General
Who is FOR Local Communities?
We are a community-based nonprofit in California providing CalAIM Enhanced Care Management and Community Supports through Medi-Cal, along with food, family essentials, transportation resources, and doula care.
What is CalAIM?
CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) is California’s initiative to connect Medi-Cal members with whole-person care, including services that address housing, food, and other needs that affect health.
What areas do you serve?
We serve families in our local communities. Contact our team to confirm whether services are available where you live.
Coverage & Cost
Is there any cost to me?
For eligible Medi-Cal members, CalAIM services like ECM and Community Supports are covered through your health plan, with no out-of-pocket costs.
Do I need to know my health plan?
No. Share what you know, and our team will help confirm your plan and eligibility behind the scenes.
Is doula care covered?
Yes. Doula care is a recognized Medi-Cal benefit for eligible members. We manage plan verification for you.
Eligibility
Who qualifies for Enhanced Care Management?
ECM is for Medi-Cal members in specific Populations of Focus, such as people experiencing homelessness, people with frequent hospital or ER visits, and pregnant or postpartum individuals. See our Who We Serve page for the full list.
What if I don’t have Medi-Cal?
Reach out anyway. We can help you understand your options, and you can apply online at BenefitsCal.com. Some community events are open to everyone.
Can I get support for a family member or client?
Yes. You can request support for yourself, a family member, or someone you work with.
Services
What services do you offer?
Enhanced Care Management, housing-focused Community Supports, food and nutrition resources, kids and family essentials, transportation resources, and birth and wellness doula care.
Can I get help with more than one thing?
Absolutely. Many families need help with housing, food, and care at the same time. Just select everything that applies on our form.
Will my Care Coordinator replace my doctor?
No. Your coordinator works alongside your doctors to make sure all of your care works together.
Doula Care
When should I connect with a doula?
Anytime during pregnancy is a great time to reach out. Earlier connection gives you more time to build your birth plan together.
Do doulas provide medical care?
No. Doulas provide emotional, physical, and informational support. Your doctor or midwife provides medical care.
Do you offer postpartum support?
Yes. Our doulas provide in-home postpartum visits to support feeding, recovery, and emotional well-being.
